Last visited Dec 2023. This superb villa, is located in the beautiful village of Nezignan l`Eveque, close to the Mediterranean beaches and just 3 kms from the historic town of Pezenas. The villa is close to the centre of the village where you will find the boulangerie, cafe-bar, award-winning Pizza restaurant, shop and wine cellar.
The villa is extremely well-equipped and the Summer kitchen overlooking the pool is probably one of the best outdoor spaces we have encountered and incredibly private.
This is quite simply a great place to spend your summer holidays in the South of France.
Villa Cerisier is located in the friendly village of Nezignan l`Eveque, close to Pezenas. This village has a range of shops including, a baker, mobile butcher, newsagent, grocer, post office, hairdresser, beauticians, bar, medical centre, pizzaria and a hotel which has a very good restaurant. The village holds a Music and Wine Festival every July. Other celebrations include Fete L`Ete (June), Bastille (July), Fete Local (July) and Fete des Vendanges (October). Take a walk along the historic route around the village.
It is an ideal spot for a South of France holiday with sandy Mediterranean beaches 15 minutes away (13km). Marseillan, Meze and nearby Bouzigues are pretty villages built on the edge of the Etang du Thau, famous for its production of oysters and mussels. An alternative to the beach for the children is `Aqualand`, a giant water park in the chic resort of Cap d`Agde.
The surrounding area is a wine lover`s paradise with a multitude of local vineyards providing some excellent wines. A 5 minute drive - 3km - from the lively medieval town of Pezenas, with its period architecture and a great choice of restaurants, pavement cafes, art galleries, museums, boutiques and a super Saturday market, where you can buy local oysters, fresh fruit and vegetables and flowers.
The Canal du Midi, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESO is 15 minutes away. The canal is ideal for hiring barges, cycling or walking along the towpath. Set in beautiful scenery 12 minutes towards Beziers is Saint-Thomas golf course which offers 18-holes for all levels of abilities throughout the year. There is superb walking available in the Montagnes Noires. Nearby Lac Salagou is a wonderful freshwater lake for swimming and water sports. Close by are the cities of Beziers (15 mins), Montpellier (50 mins), Carcassonne (60 mins), Perpignan (60 mins) and Nimes (90 mins).

The house was simply wonderful. The pool was a great attraction for us all as was the outside eating and cooking area. The sun was hot, the days long and languid, and life in the fast track became a very much appreciated pit stop to unwind and relax. We were met by our host, welcomed to their home and said goodbye as they jetted off to some foreign holiday for themselves - I bet it did not beat ours! Wonderful- thank you!So good was the house and the weather that in two weeks we went out twice only - the rest of the time was taken up with pool, eating, xbox, the odd beer or 5, and wine - well thats holiday!

Our extended family spent 3 weeks in Jane and Iain`s home in Nezignan in June / July 2019. It formed our base for our driving holiday through the Languedoc, Camargue, western Provence and Barcelona. To be honest though, most of the time we were focused on getting back to the house. It was the highlight of the holiday. Totally relaxing; fully equipped; summer friendly; in a wonderfully quiet country town and with the most approachable, yet unobtrusive hosts. The open plan ground floor reception rooms flow seamlessly through concertina doors to a gorgeous pool area and summer kitchen. It has space for everyone - both for socialising - and for finding a peaceful spot for a few hours of reading / snoozing. Masses of refrigerator / freezer space; 2 dishwashers; washing machine; coffee machine etc etc make it so easy to cater, party and be ready for the next round in no time. The kitchens are open plan to the general living area - so cooking just becomes part of the holiday. Just a few general observations: (1) This is a glorious functional family home not a high end serviced holiday home. That`s why it lives so well (2) Nezignan L`eveque is a tiny hamlet with the basics available at it`s little stores but you`ll need to hop into the car for the 6 minute journey to Pezenas for the market experience and the bulk shopping (3) The location is perfect for getting to all of the major Languedoc destinations within 90 minutes on the motorways or 2 1/2 hours on the back roads. Not to be missed are Pezenas - Saturday market and Friday night festival (<10 min), Vias Plage - beautiful beach (15 min); Bouzigues - shellfish, Aigues Mortes, Stes Marie de la Mare, Camargue ornithological park, Roquebrun and it`s Orb river kayaking, Mirepoix, Carcassone, the canal du Midi at Colombiers or Capestang and the sensational seaside town of Collioure. The list could go on... All in all, this was our best holiday ever.

We`ve had a wonderful time here in your lovely villa. Our 8 and 3 year old grand children loved the pool and we appreciated the safe secluded garden with its fruit trees. The outdoor lighting was a delight and well equipped pool kitchen allowed us to eat outdoors well into the evening as well as providing welcome shade in the day. This is the third house we`ve rented in this area in successive years and it is by far the best. Four generous bedrooms made life comfortable for us especially with the electric shutters. The modern attractive open plan living space was perfect for the family. The village is delightful: we had morning coffee at the bar and the shop is indeed well stocked. We sampled the pizzeria and lunched at the excellent hotel restaurant. All a few minutes away as was the boulangerie offering delicious bread And Pezenas is so close with lots to distract the children. A pleasant historic town with good places to eat like Chez Hansi and a the Caf? des Arts where you can eat pastries bought from the wonderful boulangerie next door. The beaches are quite close by car but we visited Portiragnes Plage which takes 30 minutes and offers simple parking and a choice of lunchtime eating. The beach is long and the bathing safe. A great place to holiday and thoroughly recommended accommodation with attentive friendly owners,

We stayed in this fantastic villa for 2 weeks in the summer of July 2019 with our 2 children aged 4 and 6.
The house was light, clean, modern and a great design. The downstairs has a large open plan kitchen dinning and sitting room with bi folding french windows that lead straight out to the pool area.Perfect for the being able to keep your eyes on little kids.
The sitting room had sky TV/with every channel you could ever ask for - even sky sports!
The pool area was outstanding. The pool itself is a great size and had a lovely covered outdoor eating area with bar(outdoor drinks fridge) with barbecue. The pool area is positioned so that it`s private (i.e. not overlooked by anyone) but also catches the sun from first thing in the morning to last thing at night.
The upstairs again was light and all rooms where a good size with a beautiful ensuite in the main bedroom and very large shower cubicles in both which made washing the kids easy.
A favourite feature was the laundry shoot that took all the washing from the top floor right down to the basement and into an area next to the washing machine.Meaning no one left their washing lying around.
The villa is located in a lovely quiet village close to the beautiful town of Pezenas. The village had a great little pizzeria making fresh pizza and also a wine producer (Condamine L`Ev?que) which seemed to have very random opening hours but was certainly worth a visit if you can catch it at the right time. Several great beaches within 15-30mins drive away (Valras Plage and Vias Plage were our favourites).
The owners keep out of your way but are always keen to help out with anything you need.
We have stayed in many villas in the surrounding area over the last 6 years and would say that this is amongst the best.

We have such a lovely time in July. House in nice location, small town but very easy to get to all the places we wanted to visit. Even the weather was glorious. Our local rep, Jane was very helpful throughout and any question we had she was on top of.The weather was wonderful and children really enjoyed the pool. The only minor point is that it would be great of there was air conditioning in the rooms, the fans weren`t enough power for the French heatwave this year!Other that that, happily come back to same house again and already recommended it to some friends for next year.

We spent two weeks at the house in August 2019 with another family. We had a great time and the house was perfect for the kids who are aged between 7 and 9. They loved the pool and the trampoline (not to mention Sky Sports!). Located in a great little village, it was a real plus to be able to walk up the road for a pizza and a beer or to fetch bread in the morning. Loads to do in the area too. The kids particularly enjoyed Carcassonne Plage and canoeing at Pont du Diable. Pezanas itself if only a few minutes away in the car and whilst it is very geared to the tourist trade, has some lovely shops and nice restaurants. Proximity to loads of great beaches is also another huge plus point. The owners Jane and Ian made us feel very welcome and offered plenty of advice about things to see and do in the area.

We stayed here in August 2019. It is a delightful, modern, spacious, clean and extremely well equipped family home in a great location, close to Pezenas and the Beaches and just under an hour from Montpellier Airport. It has every convenience, and an excellent pool. We would love to have stayed longer.

We rented this house 3 weeks in July, a perfect house. We were two couples with children and the house were perfect situated, both for discovering the close by mountain area and the lovely beaches. The house is well equipped and have all the facility you can wish for. The outside area is perfect, lovely pool, summer kitchen and trampoline in the garden. Easy access to a lively village, lots of things on - wine tasting and live music to mention some.
Jane and Iain are great hosts who made us feel extremely welcome and offered plenty of advice, most appreciated, especially the restaurant in Vailhan.
We certainly had the best time. Great facilities, close to the beach, great welcome.

Stayed in this Villa in September and had a very relaxing time. The house itself is lovely, with all the facilities you could require for a relaxing holiday. The private pool, BBQ and outdoor kitchen facilities make it a great place to chill in the evening as well as during the day if you fancied a day by the pool. A choice of lovely beaches are within easy reach by car and the town of Pezenas is well worth a visit with a traditional French market and good restaurants. A great location to stay in a quiet peaceful village with lots to do in the area.

Fantastic property. Clean & modern with excellent facilities. Spacious & comfortable with beautiful outside living area in a very quiet road. The pool was extensively used by the children and the summer kitchen was a treat for us all. The property is ideally situated, only a short car journey from Beziers airport with beautiful Mediterranean beaches only 20 minutes by car. Montpellier is also within easy reach offering great shops, restaurants and the night market at Pezenas was brilliant fun The whole region is beautiful and the consistently good weather a real bonus.

Lovely open plan villa in a great location less than 1/2 hour to the coast and a short train ride to the beautiful city of Montpellier. Situated in a small town with great local shops full of local produce this was a great location for a relaxing weeks break. Jane and Iain are great hosts who made us feel extremely welcome and offered plenty of advice on what to see and do to make the most of our visit (especially as we were new to the area).
The pool area is superb - a great place to just chill with the kids and perfect for al fresco dning.
