Pezenas is regarded as the prettiest town in the Languedoc region of South France. The town has remained largely undisturbed over the last century and the medieval centre boasts scores of beautiful historic buildings. During the main summer season over 60 artisan shops are open selling/making jewellery, glass blowing, pottery, art etc. Every Saturday there is a big market that takes over the whole of the town with many stalls selling local and regional specialties.

Pezenas is also home to over 35 brocantes (Antique stores), dozens of restaurants, bistros, bars and cafes, and cultural events and festivals all year round.

Pezenas is situated 20 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches and just 12kms from the Canal du Midi. Pezenas is well connected, with motorways, airports and TGV stations all within a short distance. The local area is very picturesque and provides some excellent trails for walking, cycling, and climbing etc. Amongst the local sites to see include St. Guilhem le Desert, Cirque du Navacelle, the famous Millau Bridge, Montpellier, Carcassonne, the Pont du Gard and Aigues Mortes (all within 30 mins to 1 hour 20 mins).

The area is the biggest wine growing region in Europe, with hundreds of vineyards offering local wine tastings. The nearby coastal towns and villages have wonderful fish restaurants and Bouzigues, Sete and Marseillan are all famous for the oysters, mussels and other shell fish farmed and served in the area.

The famous Pezenas Estival takes place weekly throughout July and August with dozens of food stalls and wine growers all selling their wares. A great time to have dinner `al fresco` in the main streets of Pezenas seated at one of the long tables available, chatting to locals, watching the world go by, all accompanied by the great jazz band playing in the street.
