The Haybarn is a lovely holiday cottage in Dordogne, France, with private pool. The cottage is located in a quiet and peaceful area, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The village of Verteillac is close-by and comes equipped with a butcher´s, bakery, local store and a couple of bars/restaurants. The village is famed for its monthly Brocante antiques market.
There are 4 airports within a 1 hour 40 mins radius and TGV train services run from Périgueux. The cottage is perfect for a family holiday in Dordogne, France.

This cottage for long term rentals is laid out over 2 floors:
Ground floor
- a large bright kitchen which is well equipped with modern amenities including dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and fridge/freezer.
- Step down into a fabulous open-plan lounge and dining area with comfy seating, fast WiFi, Smart TV with English Sat channels.
- The living room features beautiful oak beams and a large wood burner.
- The lounge also gives access to the south facing terrace, outdoor dining area and beyond to a private garden and pool.
- There is a bathroom with a bath, hand basin and WC.
First floor
- Upstairs there is a large luxurious master bedroom which overlooks the garden and French countryside.
- The bedroom has polished wooden floors, large south-facing shuttered windows and soft inviting beds with super comfortable mattresses and cool, crisp white linen.
- There is an en suite shower room
- Bedroom 2 contains a double bed
- Bedroom 3 also comes with a double bed
- A baby cot can also be provided
Outside: there is a generous garden with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The swimming pool is open from May to September only. There is parking for several cars.

This very well-equipped holiday cottage in Dordogne, France, is ideal for a family vacation in this beautiful part of France. The cottage can easily accommodate up to 6 people. The local village has a good range of facilities. The cottage is ideal for exploring the beautiful riverside village of Brantôme, the medieval chateau of Villebois-Lavalette, the stunning village of Aubterre-sur-Dronne and Périgueux, the capital of Dordogne.

The village of Verteillac is located in the Dordogne department of France. The Dordogne is traditionally divided into 4 parts: Green Perigord in the North; White Perigord in the centre (around the capital of Périgueux), Black Perigord in the South East and Purple Perigord around Bergerac. Verteillac is located on the border of densely forested Green Perigord and the limestone plains of the White Perigord.
Verteillac is located 35km north-west of Périgueux and 33km southeast of Angouleme. Bordeaux is 1 hour 40 mins to the South-West. The village is 2 mins drive from the cottage and is built on the edge of a plain, about 120m above sea level. To the north of the village there is the valley of the River Pude. Verteillac features a butcher´s, bakery, local store and a couple of bars/restaurants. The village is famed for its monthly Brocante antiques market. In the other direction, the village of Cherval comes with a bakery and a restaurant, Chez Hannah.
The Dordogne is famous for its gastronomy, especially its Black Truffles, foie gras, Bergerac wines, chestnuts, walnuts and wild mushrooms. The local Périgueux sauce which is used in a lot of traditional dishes, is made from a reduction of white wine, carrots, shallots, veal stock and diced truffle.
The cottage is ideal for exploring the beautiful riverside village of Brantôme, the medieval chateau of Villebois-Lavalette and the stunning village of Aubterre-sur-Dronne and Périgueux, the capital of Dordogne.

London St Pancras to Angouleme via Paris can be completed in just over 5 hours. The trip from Paris takes approximately 2h 20mins direct to Angouleme, which is the nearest TGV station and is approximately 30miles/50km from Verteillac.
