The village of Verteillac is located in the Dordogne department of France. The Dordogne is traditionally divided into 4 parts: Green Perigord in the North; White Perigord in the centre (around the capital of Périgueux), Black Perigord in the South East and Purple Perigord around Bergerac. Verteillac is located on the border of densely forested Green Perigord and the limestone plains of the White Perigord.
Verteillac is located 35km north-west of Périgueux and 33km southeast of Angouleme. Bordeaux is 1 hour 40 mins to the South-West. The village is 2 mins drive from the cottage and is built on the edge of a plain, about 120m above sea level. To the north of the village there is the valley of the River Pude. Verteillac features a butcher´s, bakery, local store and a couple of bars/restaurants. The village is famed for its monthly Brocante antiques market. In the other direction, the village of Cherval comes with a bakery and a restaurant, Chez Hannah.
The Dordogne is famous for its gastronomy, especially its Black Truffles, foie gras, Bergerac wines, chestnuts, walnuts and wild mushrooms. Verteillac is 35 km north-west of Périgueux. The village is bisected by the D708 road from Ribérac to Angoulême and Nontron.
25% deposit to be paid at time of reservation. The holiday balance and security deposit (€500) to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. The security deposit will be returned within 7 days of departure, less any deductions for damage. Minimum 7 day stays during July and August.
